Rebecca
Dowling

Child and Family Psychologist

Drawn to working with people from an early stage in her career, Rebecca first trained as a primary school teacher and gained experience in caregiving, tutoring, and community support roles across youth and adult mental health. These roles strengthened her commitment to supporting individuals in meaningful and practical ways.

Rebecca is now a registered psychologist with a Master of Arts in Psychology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Child and Family Psychology. During her training, she worked with many young people who presented with a wide range of challenges, only to discover that underlying learning differences that shaped their experiences. This sparked her deep interest in specific learning disorders and guided the focus of her work over the past ten years within a non‑government organisation.

Throughout this time, Rebecca developed a strong passion for supporting students with diverse learning profiles and holds a particular interest in neurodiversity which has also branched into the areas of ADHD and autism, as well as the secondary impacts of neurodivergence. She approaches assessments with the belief that a high‑quality report can offer clarity, insight, and a foundation for reducing barriers so individuals can thrive. She values the opportunity to work closely with children, young people, and their families, bringing together different perspectives to build a shared understanding of how each person learns and experiences the world.

Rebecca is a social, fun‑loving city dweller who thrives on the vibrancy of arts, culture, and architecture. Her favourite places include the cinema and the botanic gardens, and she embraces every opportunity to immerse herself in cultural and creative events.
